THE WIDOWS GIFT…Luke 21: 1-4 — Mark 12: 42-44
Now while all the people were listening…
Jesus said to His disciples, beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love respectful greetings in the markets places, and the best seats in the synagogues, and places of honor at banquets.
These scribes devour and consume, widows houses, and for appearance sake offer long prayers.
These will receive great condemnation.
Jesus’ looked up and seen the rich putting their gift in the treasury.
And he saw a poor widow putting in two small copper coins, which amounted to a cent.
Then Jesus said truly I say to you this poor widow put in more than all of them.
They put into the offering, their surplus their overages; But she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on.
In this story Jesus knew this women heart; she was a good woman, godly women giving all she had to God.
In the Jewish faith, only men could own properties, this
was done so as to keep the tribal lands of Israel separated from each other, and this would keep down disputes between tribes to keep the linage of Jesus pure to the tribe of Judea.
This widow had nothing and was dependent on God to care for her. What faith,”
Jesus, must have seen in this widows heart!
WELCOME ALL VISITORS: We will be meeting only on Sunday Morning’s at 11AM until further notice, Behind the seats are visitor cards please fill one out and give to someone

James 1: 5-6 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
HEBREWS 10: 19-25
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
